Very well made and functional bow

This bow is beautiful. so light and slim one hardly feels it in the hand yet powerful accurate and smooth to shoot. casts an arrow very fast indeed and little vibration. The only complaint is the shipping costs which are excessive when weighed next to the price point for the bow. I would gladly have purchased several in different draw weights and other models but in most cases the shipping cost is 60-70 % of the items purchase cost.

tatar oak

Got my first horsebow 2 weeks ago, oak tatar, 45#. It is my first experience with traditional shooting and thumb draw and I like it a lot. The bow is very light, fast and accuarate and overall fun to shoot. I am also very pleased with AF responding to my questions and emails and quick delivery.
If (when) I am going to buy another bow, I know where I will check first! :)

Everything I wanted

I opted for the 30# oak Tatar with integrated string bridge and counterweight following Armen Hirmer's review, these additions are definitely worth the extra money and take it from an already great beginner bow, to a forever bow you can always come back to even if you get other bows during your archery journey. It is beautifully made, shoots incredibly smoothly and quietly but feels powerful and shoots true. For me personally the larger Tatar style feels much more forgiving and feels better to draw than most smaller Turkish bows and at no compromise. Especially for someone going from modern recurve to traditional Asiatic it feels very natural. If you want something that you can always come back to and shoot all day for enjoyment and also looks beautiful enough hang up unstrung when not shooting as a wall piece, I couldn't recommend this bow more.

My only 2 minor inconveniences were: That the bows poundage is written on one side of the bow in small permanent marker, but if you want to you can probably use a fine sander to remove it for a cleaner look; The bow doesn't come with any documentation, however I found AF communicates well and if you email them asking for arrow recommendations for instance, they will get back to you in good time and are happy to advise.

I'm more a try in person rather than buy online kind of individual, but I have 0 regrets having this bow shipped to me and its better than anything I've shot before. 10/10.
